Naval Station Great Lakes 10.6 MW CHP Plant Equipment Removal

Project Description

The Naval Station Great Lakes military base – home of the United States Navy’s only boot camp, located near North Chicago, in Lake County, Illinois – had recently decommissioned their CHP plant and upgraded their campus heating and cooling system. Bryan Power was contracted to purchase and de-install two (2) Solar T60 5.3 MW natural gas turbine generators, two Rentech Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), exhaust stacks, gas compressors and all ancillary equipment from their cogeneration power and steam plant that was no longer needed. The equipment was inspected and found to be well-maintained and capable of providing many years of additional service therefore making perfect use for another Bryan Power client who was looking to install a 10+ MW CHP plant at a nearby facility. Bryan Power met stringent procedural, health, safety, and environmental standards typical of working at a secure government facility and safely removed the CHP equipment on a compressed schedule.
