Stanford 56 MW Cogeneration Power Plant Decommissioning

Project Description

Bryan Power Generation (BPG) assisted with the decommissioning of Stanford’s 56 MW Central Energy Facility which was completed in June of 2015. BPG removed the 200,000 lb 42 MW GE Frame 6B gas turbine and loaded it on a truck to be transported to its new location at a pulp and paper mill in the Gulf States. BPG also removed the gas turbine generator, natural gas compressors, air intake system, switchgear, control systems, piping, and cooling systems as well as a variety of other auxiliary components. The work was conducted and completed in a very congested area on the Stanford University campus on a tight schedule.
